Hybrid Contacts

Are Hybrid Contact Lenses Right for You?

Your View Is Our Vision

In the last decade, a new type of contact lens has been added to the optometrist’s toolkit – one that can make a big difference in the lives of people with certain kinds of vision problems. Hybrid contact lenses consist of a rigid gas permeable lens surrounded by a soft lens skirt. They are available in several versions, some of which can correct several vision problems at once.

Hybrid contact lenses might be a good fit for you if you have:

  • Corneal scarring or transplants
  • Astigmatism
  • Both presbyopia & astigmatism
  • Keratoconus (a condition in which the clear tissue in the cornea gets thin & bulges outward)
  • Extreme dry eyes
  • A history of Radial Keratotomy (RK) eye surgery

Other people who may benefit from hybrid contact lenses include those who are already wearing soft or multifocal lenses and who:

  • Want better vision.
  • Experience lens rotation.
  • Would like a more comfortable lens.

We Listen

At Advanced Eyecare of Chino Optometry, we use the latest and greatest diagnostic tools to provide our patients with complete information about their eye health. Dr. Chao will determine if your vision problem can be addressed by hybrid lenses, and if so, by which kind. Then he will take great care to fit them to you, so that they feel comfortable and improve your vision.

As with other kinds of contact lenses, you will learn how to insert, remove and care for your hybrid lenses. And if you find you are having problems with your new lenses, we are here for you. Contact our office and we will be happy to assist you.

An important part of our practice does not involve technology. It is the way we listen to you. When you describe your symptoms, tell us your concerns and give us feedback about how well your vision solutions are working for you, you help us to improve your visual outcome!
